Began life as a stock 1979 North American spec. Mini. Crash bumpers were removed and replaced with chrome bumpers with overriders and light guards. Exterior is otherwise stock. Interior is stock tan with a wood dash (an oldie with no air vents in it). The steering wheel is a genuine BMC option unit (12" leather wrap) carefully bent from a big crash when it was in one of my other minis
Extras:
The engine is a bona fide 998cc Cooper engine from my own 1970 Cooper. It has a very trick head, LCB header and a mild road camshaft. The final drive ratio is 3:44 and it cruises comfortably at about 70 to 75mph. The car has been lowered about 1/2 inch on stock rubber cones and shock absorbers. It is equipped with Yokohoma A008's and a set of vintage Cosmics. Future (near) improvements will see the installation of coil overs all round.
Comments:
This is probably about my 50 or 60th Mini since the beginning for me in the late 60's. Minis are a disease that is fun.
